Where is Devil's Cauldron on the Oregon Coast?

Devil’s Cauldron is a cliffside cove on the North Oregon Coast, inside Oswald West State Park, about 7.5 miles north of the Nehalem River Inn and four miles north of Manzanita, Oregon.

The area, which features dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean, is a short hike from Highway 101 (Oregon Coast Highway). Park at the pullout located about a half-mile south of the Short Sand Beach parking areas.

The views are stunning, but it can be dangerous. In September 2017, a Canadian man hiking around Devil’s Cauldron fell 800 feet to his death. Another man fell to his death at Devil’s Cauldron in September 2020.
